Quarterly Newsletter (July to September 2025)

         RESTORING HOPE, RELEASING POTENTIAL

Dear House of Wells PARTNERS, THANK YOU for your ongoing support.  As a result of your generosity many children are being blessed spiritually, physically and academically. May the Lord bless you exceedingly and abundantly beyond the seed you have sown.

QUARTERLY NEWSLETTER – July to September 2025

H.O.W turns 17 – August 2025
HOUSE OF WELLS marked 17 years since it was founded in South Africa (S.A).  The Anniversary was celebrated across all 36 Enrichment Centres in seven nations, with various engaging activities and competitions like football matches, dance competitions, and quizzes, resulting in children winning many prizes, while they enjoyed their cakes, snacks, and drinks.
In August 2008, the founders, Pastors Richard and Kemi travelled to South Africa, with lots of uncertainties ahead of them, but knew that because God had sent them, all would be well eventually.  We started with 7 children in 2008 and as at 8th August 2025, over 3,350 children in 36 Centres are benefitting from the work that House of Wells does across 7 nations – helping children and young people through education and feeding them (spiritually & physically).

For 17 years, House of Wells has been dedicated to transforming young lives :-
Educational Success – Our commitment to education is yielding incredible results. Many of our teenagers have pursued higher education, with several currently attending or having successfully graduated from university. Two more will join the ranks of our university graduates by the end of this year. This success is fuelled by our Tuition Centres, where qualified tutors are helping children to excel in their education and set a positive course for their future.
Spiritual & Community Impact – Beyond academics, House of Wells is fostering spiritual growth and community transformation. Our teenagers are choosing a life of purity in Christ, turning their backs on harmful influences like gang culture. This change is resonating far beyond our doors: many families have come to faith through their children’s powerful testimonies, resulting in transformed lives and a progressive positive change being seen in the wider community. We give God all the glory for these breakthroughs.

A Heartfelt Thank You
We are profoundly grateful for the labour of love, kindness, and generosity of all our partners. Your support has been instrumental in turning lives around, steering children away from mischievous activities and unwholesome associations. Because of you, lives that could have gone down a different path have been turned around for the better. God will never forget your commitment to the children and young people of House of Wells.

                         HIGHLIGHTS FOR THIS QUARTER
SOUTH AFRICA – PORT ELIZABETH – Across multiple centres, H.O.W. children are displaying a deep passion for God and the tangible power of prayer. At Kleinskool Centres, a teen shared the miraculous, complete recovery of her brother who was paralyzed, and younger children testified to answered prayers for sick relatives. Teens are also showing significant spiritual growth and inviting friends to our enrichment programs.
This revival is widespread, at Habelgaarn Centre, the H.O.W. program is leading to spiritual restoration in homes, with one Muslim child testifying to his mother’s healing after he prayed.  Individual lives are transformed, at Mnqophiso, teens Akhanyile and Ithandile changed from being disruptive to peaceful and compliant. In our Kwazakhele Centre, a local sangoma (traditional healer) who was one of the school staff had initially opposed our use of the school hall and barred her child from attending H.O.W, but God miraculously intervened and H.O.W was vindicated. As a result, the woman’s attitude completely transformed, and her daughter has since returned to House of Wells. Our God is a righteous judge who transforms hearts.

In Cape Town, we are thanking God for academic achievement and miraculous transformation. Two H.O.W. teenagers who attended the Tuition Classes became top achievers in their schools. In addition to this, another teenager experienced a miracle. Her mother expressed deep gratitude for H.O.W.’s prayers and counselling. The mother mentioned that costly consultations with traditional healers (sangomas) failed, but when her daughter started attending H.O.W. and gave her life to Christ, she experienced mental and emotional healing. The mother also testified that H.O.W. became her daughter’s safe haven, where she truly found herself.

UGANDA  At the Lusaze Centre, God miraculously provided a new, spacious venue for our enrichment program after a long time of struggling with limited space. Busawula Centre celebrated two powerful testimonies of behaviour change. Esther (8) shared that she has stopped her previous habit of stealing money from her mother. Additionally, a teenager reported that she is no longer a troublemaker and now very obedient to her parents. Our Mbogo Centre witnessed a powerful breakthrough when Vivian, a teenage girl suffering from family abandonment and spiritual oppression, experienced deliverance after prayer. Her transformation sparked a spiritual revival among other children, resulting in multiple healings, including one child being healed from asthma.  Glory to God.

KENYA  At Mashimoni CENTRE, H.O.W. team is currently navigating a period of adjustment following the departure of the previous headteacher, who was highly supportive of the work we do in the school. Our team is now working to establish new working relationships with a new set of teachers, which includes Muslim staff.  We pray for God’s favour to guide their interactions and ensure a positive working environment with the new school leadership. At Lenana, lessons on the Name of Jesus concluded, and Bible studies focused on being made alive in Christ (Ephesians 2:1−5) and the water of eternal life (John 4:14). There is also a noticeable increase in special needs children attending our Centre, supported by their parents. Our Enrichment Centre in Kibera is now in a new, more spacious location, which has led to a notable increase in attendance.

MALAWI  Our Enrichment Centre in Mpemba continues to make a strong impact on the spiritual and personal growth of our children and teenagers. In September, notable progress was seen as teenagers demonstrated greater faith and reliance on divine intervention, showing maturity in their spiritual lives. Younger children have also grown, confidently reciting Bible verses and praying on their own — evidence of a solid Christian foundation being built.
Academically, the children continue to excel, with school teachers confirming that those attending H.O.W centres perform better than their peers. To the Glory of God, this quarter was marked by growth in spiritual confidence, commitment to scripture, and academic excellence, highlighting the effectiveness of the H.O.W programs.

GHANA – We are overwhelmed with gratitude to the kind donor who has provided sponsorship for the school fees and other requirements of five children in H.O.W. Ghana. This is truly amazing, especially because three of them have been out of school for over two years!  We are incredibly thankful to God for this donor for making a tangible, life-changing difference in the lives of these children.  Their generosity has not just paid fees, it has unlocked futures, ended years of educational interruption, and restored the deepest hope to these precious children. We pray that God will richly and abundantly reward them for their extraordinary kindness toward the education of these children.

NIGERIA  This quarter, H.O.W. Nigeria witnessed exceptional progress in the lives of the children. There was great spiritual improvement, evidenced by multiple testimonies of divine healing and protection after children called on the name of Jesus.  Individual behavioural and confidence growth was seen.  Samuel, who was once timid, showed marked improvement in confidence and social interaction, and previously disruptive teenagers like Bose and Deborah demonstrated positive behaviour following counselling and prayers by our team.
Educationally, the teenagers had significant success, with five students securing university admission and scholarships, including three into medical-related fields.  Extra-curricular programs this quarter focused on preparation for the next academic term, including a Career Talk and a Prep Talk emphasising discipline and God-centric success.

QUARTERLY HOME VISITS  – This quarter, the House of Wells staff visited the homes of 137 H.O.W children. Parents/guardians were delighted to welcome us into their homes. The HOME VISITS reports highlighted significant spiritual breakthroughs and family transformation in 25 of the homes.
**In addition, five parents/guardians accepted or re-dedicated their lives to Christ
**E.W (12) and X.W (15) were recently struggling after their mother abandoned them and grandfather passed, leading X.W. to consider dropping out of school. After prayer and encouragement, she agreed to go back to school.
**We offered comfort and counselling to J (13) and her family, after the murder of her uncle at their house left her very traumatic.

These visits collectively show that House of Wells’ impact extends beyond our Enrichment Centres, fostering salvation, reconciliation, and recommitment to Christian life within the families of the House of Wells children.
