QUARTERLY NEWSLETTER – July to September 2024
H.O.W turns 16 – August 2024
HOUSE OF WELLS marked 16 years since it was founded in South Africa (S.A). In August 2008, the founders, Pastors Richard and Kemi travelled to South Africa, with lots of uncertainties ahead of them, but knew that because God had sent them, all would be well eventually. We started with 7 children in 2008 and as at 8th August 2024, over 3,100 children in 36 Centres are benefitting from the work that House of Wells does across 7 nations – helping children and young people through education and feeding them (spiritually & physically) :-
**South Africa – 25 Enrichment Centres with 1814 children and young people
**Zimbabwe – 1 Enrichment Centre with 25 children and young people
**Uganda – 3 Enrichment Centres – 320 children and young people
**Kenya – 3 Enrichment Centres – 335 children and young people
**Nigeria – 2 Enrichment Centre – 280 children and young people
**Malawi – 1 Enrichment Centre – 176 children and young people
**Ghana – 1 Enrichment Centres –150 children and young people
**19 of our teenagers are currently in university, 4 have already graduated and two more will be finishing from university later this year (2024). Many more children are improving in their education through the daily H.O.W Tuition Centres. Many of the children that have benefited from House of Wells’ Tuition Classes have excelled in their education, with many more on track to do the same.
**Our teenagers are embracing a life of purity in Christ and turning away from gang culture. Many families have come to Christ through their children’s testimonies, many lives transformed, communities are seeing the hand of God progressively. We give God all the glory.
We are truly grateful to all our partners, God can never forget your labour of love, your kindness and generosity to the children and young people at House of Wells.
  
  
APPRECIATION of LONG-TERM PARTNERSHIP
We want to acknowledge and appreciate Pastor Sola Fola-Alade and the The Liberty Church London for partnering with House of Wells since 2012, especially their yearly contribution towards the annual Christmas hampers for hundreds of children in House of Wells.
We also want to appreciate Pastor Yemi Odusolu and Trinity Chapel for their ongoing partnership with House of Wells for many years which includes monthly donations towards the feeding and education of the children at H.O.W Enrichment Centres; and contribution towards the Christmas Food Hampers.
May the Lord continue to bless The Liberty Church and Trinity Chapel, may the breath of God continually propel the work that you have been called by God to do, and may God cause a great harvest to abound to you for the glory of His name, in Jesus’ mighty name.
2024 Christmas FOOD PACKS for H.O.W children
As usual, we have started the preparations for the 2024 children’s Christmas FOOD HAMPERS. The food packs will be given to the children during the first week of December 2024. This year, we are raising funds to buy food packs for about 3100 children across the 7 countries in which House of Wells Enrichment Centres are currently based – SOUTH AFRICA; ZIMBABWE; UGANDA; KENYA; NIGERIA; MALAWI and GHANA. PLEASE donate £5, R100 or $5 towards each child’s hamper, and kindly sponsor as many children as you possibly can. Please spread the word among your family and friends. We would appreciate your support to bring the Christmas joy to these children again this year.

SCHOOL FEES SPONSORSHIP
We are seeking support for a teenager in House of Wells UGANDA, who has finished Primary School for over a year and has not been able to proceed to High School because her mother, a widow, cannot afford the school fees. Please contact us for details, if you are able to sponsor her.

GIFT AID DECLARATION REQUEST – We need your consent in order to claim Gift Aid on your donations to House of Wells. A Gift Aid declaration will allow House of Wells to claim tax back on your eligible donations. It means that for every £1 you donate to House of Wells we can claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you.

HIGHLIGHTS FOR THIS QUARTER
**In Mzomtsha (P.E) we had a 13 year-old girl Hlela, who initially showed signs of violent behaviour. However, recently, her transformation has been a testament of the power of God’s love. Her decision to give her life to Jesus and her newfound compassion for others are clear signs of the Holy Spirit at work.
**In Jarvis (P.E.), Lutholwethu’s transformation is another beautiful example of how God works in miraculous ways. The fact that even the teachers, who had struggled with her behaviour, are noticing a positive change speaks volumes about the power of the message of salvation.
**H.O.W KENYA delivered school uniforms and shoes to the children at Centre of Hope primary School, Kibera.
**More and more teenagers are joining our Tuition Centres and excelling in their grades.
**Teenagers in H.O.W NIGERIA participated in a skill acquisition training on Cybersecurity in collaboration with the NEXTER Project. They all received certificates of participation upon completion, marking a significant achievement in their personal growth.
**Asiphile and Ivani – their mother had no job and couldn’t provide for her children. She asked H.O.W leaders to pray for her earlier this year and God has blessed her with a job this month. Now she can take care of her children financially.
**H.O.W MALAWI – We have been informed of amazing transformation of the lives of some H.O.W children, by their school teachers and parents. They are now very focused and working hard at school because we encourage them at H.O.W Centre to always work hard and do their best. Our leaders also assist the children whenever they have homework. Parents have also acknowledged H.O.W for the food that the children eat while at H.O.W Centre, especially because there has been severe food crisis in Malawi this year, due to drought.
         
QUARTERLY HOME VISITS
We visited the homes of 96 H.O.W children this quarter. A few stories below :-
**Roseline’s family – We were told that Roseline actively shares what she learns at H.O.W and encourages her mother to return to church. We are trusting in God’s grace for them. We pray their journey back to faith be filled with hope and joy!
**Our visit to the Ruiters family brought much-needed encouragement and hope. Four children attend H.O.W Centre from this family. Their mother Anastasia’s openness about her struggles, both with poverty and her daughter’s schoolwork, shows her desire for change. We were able to encourage her with a testimony about God’s faithfulness.
**Barendse family – 3 children attend H.O.W Centres from this family. We can see the fruit of a praying mother in their mum Elvina! It’s wonderful that she has instilled the power of prayer in Cassidy and that they are united in faith. Her openness about their financial struggles shows her trust in God’s provision.
**The home of Lushaan (10), Kurishma (7) and Ruwayne (12) – It was amazing to hear what their mother Nadia, a widow, had to say! The children’s faith in God, their commitment to sharing the lessons they learnt at H.O.W, and praying with their mother is truly inspiring. The fact that Nadia can see the hand of God in their lives and is being encouraged by her children’s spiritual growth is a powerful example of how impactful programs like H.O.W can be in nurturing families.
