Quarterly Newsletter (April to June 2025)

         RESTORING HOPE, RELEASING POTENTIAL

Dear House of Wells PARTNERS, THANK YOU for your ongoing support.  As a result of your generosity many children are being blessed spiritually, physically and academically. May the Lord bless you exceedingly and abundantly beyond the seed you have sown.

One of our lessons this quarter was about the name of Jesus, our children learnt about the authority and power in the Name of Jesus. At the Busawula, Uganda Centre, this lesson empowered the children to boldly declare victory over evil. Notably, 6-year-old Nampijja declared, “I have power over satan and witchcraft in the name of Jesus,” and we have since seen this manifest in her life.

This quarter, we saw yet again, how involving children in dramatising our lessons has shown positive impacts, particularly in Jeswyn. He has progressively transformed from being hyperactive, disruptive, and prone to fighting since his involvement in skits.

OUR LATEST GRADUATE…..Glory to God
We are so PROUD of Frasia and thankful for what God has done in her life through House of Wells. She finished her BCom Accounting degree in South Africa and graduated in April.  Frasia is one of the many young people who have gone through University from House of Wells.  She sent us the testimony below, what a faithful God we serve!!

“I’m thrilled to share my testimony.  As I reflect on my journey, I’m reminded of the profound impact that House of Wells has had on my life since 2010.
Since joining House of Wells in primary school at WPS Port Elizabeth, I’ve experienced the love, guidance, and support of this community. The teachings, mentorship, and encouragement I received from H.O.W during my high school years at KHS laid a solid foundation for my future.
One of the most significant ways House of Wells has blessed me was by supporting my education. I was part of the TUITION CENTRE tutorial classes for many years and that helped me to get good grades in MATRIC.
In 2022, H.O.W helped me with my tuition fees, which was a huge relief and enabled me to focus on my studies. H.O.W has supported me spiritually, in my education and in other various ways.
The skills I learned during my time at House of Wells, such as effective communication and leadership, have been invaluable in my tertiary education. These skills have helped me navigate challenges, build strong relationships, and achieve academic success.
I’m proud to say that I graduated with my degree in record time in May 2025. I’m grateful for the opportunity to have been part of the H.O.W community and for the lessons learned and the experiences I’ve had. As I look back, I’m reminded of Proverbs 22:6, ‘Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.’
House of Wells has played a significant role in shaping me into the person I am today, and for that, I’m eternally grateful to God”.

STORIES of some UNIVERSITY STUDENTS who have benefitted from the H.O.W TUITION & SCHOOL SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM :–

**NADIA (21) shared the story of her 11-year journey with House of Wells (H.O.W), which she joined in Grade 3. She said H.O.W significantly impacted her by introducing her to Jesus Christ and Christianity, teaching her to pray, and emphasising the importance of focusing on faith over worldly distractions, especially since her family didn’t attend church.

Nadia excelled academically through being part of the H.O.W Tuition Classes.  She highlighted H.O.W.’s academic support for many other students, including providing reading glasses, school uniforms and shoes. She fondly recalled the soup and bread that H.O.W provided every day, as well as the annual year-end functions, which offered fun, fellowship, and Christmas food packs for children and their families.

Nadia expressed deep gratitude for H.O.W.’s teachings, particularly the emphasis on Jesus’ love and compassion, which have guided her life choices and encouraged acts of kindness, empathy, forgiveness, and service to others.

**ELZONIA (21), sent us this testimony about her 10-year transformative experience at H.O.W. She joined H.O.W in Grade 6, initially a shy girl, but she gradually gained confidence through various H.O.W programmes.   She said she received immense support at H.O.W and her love for God was fostered.

She highlighted the profound impact of H.O.W’s prayer initiatives, emphasizing the leaders’ consistent prayer and unwavering support that helped her overcome shyness. She recounted the love and support from Pastor Kemi and Pastor Richard and all the other leaders. According to Elzonia, the Saturday Teenagers’ Programmes and the teachings from H.O.W leaders revolutionised her prayer life, introducing her to fasting and deepening her faith. This spiritual growth led to significant changes in her demeanour, speech, thoughts, and confidence, even enabling her to speak in front of 500 people daily, a remarkable feat for someone once shy.

Elzonia said, beyond her spiritual growth, H.O.W also offered her and other teenagers academic assistance, providing them support for exams, workshops, and special prayer sessions.

Elzonia’s career path also reflects God’s miraculous intervention through H.O.W’s influence.  She said she was initially aiming for nursing, but there were complications with her applications.  She therefore went on to study Business Administration, after which she worked as a hospital porter.  During her role as a hospital porter an encounter led to her becoming a receptionist at a Hospital. Through a series of rapid promotions—from receptionist in July 2024 to reception supervisor in November 2024, and finally Financial Team Leader in January 2025—Elzonia now holds a significant position in the finance department of a hospital in Cape Town.  She attributed these open doors to God’s plan for her life, emphasising that “when God closes one door, HE prepares you for another one to open.”  She is now studying financial management, sponsored by the organisation she works for.

**NELISEKA, a second-year Bachelor of Education student at Walter Sisulu University, reflected on the significant impact House of Wells (H.O.W) had on her life since she joined in Grade 8 (2019). She credited H.O.W with shaping her as a teenager, particularly through consistent Biblical teachings, life-skills and crucial academic support in mathematics at the H.O.W TUITION CLASSES. She said the maths tuitions provided by H.O.W greatly improved her grades, for which she expresses lasting gratitude.

**Asemahle began her journey with House of Wells in 2011, aged six.  She said H.O.W not only taught her about God but also helped her discover the power of prayer and to gain a deep understanding of scripture, H.O.W profoundly impacted her spiritually and financially.

She said a key moment was in 2023 when H.O.W supported her by paying for some short courses during her gap year after finishing High School, keeping her productive. Now in her first year of Bsc Education at University, Asemahle attributes where she is in life to H.O.W’s foundational support, and God’s promise in Jeremiah 29:11. She expressed excitement for the future.

MENTORSHIP EVENT in Port Elizabeth – in June, Pastor Richard and Pastor Kemi hosted an event in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, inviting recent House of Wells graduates (2023-2025) and current university students. The graduates shared their experiences and testimonies, offering advice to students in grades 10, 11, and 12.

NEWS & REPORTS from various Nations (APRIL – JUNE 2025)

TESTIMONIES from GHANA –
**ABRAHAM’S MIRACULOUS RESCUE – Ten-year-old Abraham experienced a miraculous rescue thanks to remembering a lesson from House of Wells. While sitting in a tree in his school playground, another boy wanted to climb up the tree to sit next to Abraham.  The boy became angry when Abraham asked to be left alone and told Abraham, “if you don’t let me come up…then you are going to fall down.” Instantly, the branch Abraham was on broke, and he began to fall.

In that moment of danger, Abraham recalled what the H.O.W Centre leader had told them – to call on the name of Jesus when in trouble. He immediately shouted, “Jesus! Jesus! Jesus!” Miraculously, the broken branch, which had already started to cut his skin, caught his shirt instead of continuing to injure him. This held him midway down the tree, allowing him to safely climb down. Abraham showed our Centre leader the cut on his chest and neck.  He told her that if he hadn’t called on Jesus, the branch would have severely injured his neck. He said “when I shouted the name of Jesus, Jesus saved me.”

**The House of Wells Ghana Centre has witnessed a few more significant impacts from our Bible lessons. After the teaching on the power of the tongue, children are now very mindful of their words and actively report the use of offensive language.

**The appealing aroma of the food which we prepare at the Centre is drawing in community members, including an old lady who came to the Centre to request for food. We pray that the aroma of the word of God will likewise go far and bring a lot more children to the Centre to hear the word of God.

Ministry Updates and Growth in KENYA –
**The House of Wells ministry in Kenya is seeing positive developments. Grace and Nicole, who have been in H.O.W for many years, went on to complete a Child Care training after finishing High school.   They are now serving in H.O.W, representing a “harvest” for the organisation.
**At Mashimoni Centre, the school Head Teacher reported noticeable behavioural changes in older boys from her school who have been attending our programmes, all glory to God.
**With the number of children increasing monthly, the House of Wells is actively seeking funding for meals and additional staff to meet the growing demand.

Positive Trends and Growth in MALAWI –
**The ministry is experiencing significant positive developments, including marked improvements in spiritual growth, behaviour (at home and school), and educational outcomes among the children.
**The number of children attending is increasing monthly, prompting a need for additional funding to hire more staff.
**Notably, some Muslim children who had stopped attending classes have now returned and are showing great eagerness to learn Biblical principles.

Program Successes and Miraculous Healings in NIGERIA
**H.O.W Nigeria is celebrating several successes, including all our seven students achieving a considerable performance in their University Matriculation Examination.
**The “Teenagers Hangout” event, held at the Akute Centre, successfully engaged teenagers in discussions about purpose, academic excellence, and safeguarding them from vices. This initiative also revealed personal challenges faced by the teenagers, guiding our leaders on how to best support them, counsel and pray for them.
**Adura (11) was healed of fever and headache after one of our leaders prayed with her. Additionally, many children shared testimonies of God’s protection, provision, and miracles of healing for their family members as a result of H.O.W leaders praying for them.
**After our lessons on the Name of Jesus, Osinachi (9) recounted how he was saved and healed after a motorcycle accident because he kept calling on the name of Jesus.

Testimonies from UGANDA –
A powerful prayer and worship session at our Centre in Mbogo (Mbogo School) led to two significant miracles :-
**Following the session, a teacher informed the H.O.W Team Leader about Halima, a Muslim woman who had attempted suicide due to a spiritual attack. The Team Leader visited Halima, resulting in her acceptance of Jesus Christ, deliverance from a suicidal spirit, and being filled with the Holy Spirit. Another woman in Halima’s home also received salvation.  A testament to God’s power overflowing from H.O.W Centre into the community.
**In another miraculous event, 13-year-old Dawn who had been struggling with an eye condition affecting her vision, was healed during a H.O.W youth session. The power of God was so strong that Dawn, previously unable to see the blackboard clearly, suddenly shouted that her sight was restored.

House of Wells Partnerships and Community Impact in CAPE TOWN –
This quarter, House of Wells has forged key partnerships to support its mission of “restoring hope and releasing potential” in young people. We are collaborating with Biblionef and Nal’ibali to enhance literacy and learning in our children
**The “Reading for Fun” project, in partnership with Nal’ibali, aims to engage children in reading through their interests.
**Biblionef has provided educational materials, including a donation of 50 books for a new library that H.O.W helped to set up at Walter Teka Primary School
**Additionally, Phillipi Community Library will send representatives to House of Wells Centres to assist with reading and issue library cards for the children, encouraging active library engagement
**In a powerful testament to our long-term impact, a former House of Wells teenager was recently spotted by a leader at a shopping centre, actively evangelising and singing gospel songs with his church group.

Youth Testimonies and Divine Protection in PORT ELIZABETH –
The House of Wells ministry is hearing powerful testimonies from its young people.
**One teenager shared how she resisted drug temptation from a friend, and later, was able to lead that same friend to Jesus when the friend later came to ask her why God is not answering her prayers.
**Our leaders visited the home of Althea (18), who was part of H.O.W for many years.  Althea is now a psychology student, thriving at university and actively involved in her church. She recounted a harrowing experience where she was invited to a Club but felt a divine prompting not to go. That same weekend, her friends who went to the Club were shot. This powerful incident served as a testament to the Holy Spirit’s guidance and Althea’s obedience, reinforcing the importance of choosing friends wisely and making godly decisions.
